December (Developmental) – Serve/Serve Receive Program

Dates: December 2 – December 18
Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Location: BlockOut Academy — 133 West Oxmoor Road, Birmingham, AL 35209

Program Overview
This 3-week December program is designed to help athletes strengthen two of the most critical skills in volleyball: serving and serve receive. Each session focuses on improving consistency and control in first contact while also building the athletic foundation needed to perform under pressure.

The Developmental Level is built for Middle School athletes with 1–2 years of school or club volleyball experience.
(Note: Recreational league experience alone does not qualify. If you only have Rec league background, we encourage you to check out our Beginner/Limited Experience programs instead.)

Schedule
5:00–6:00 PM — Strength & Conditioning (Suite #315, across the parking lot from the main BlockOut gym)
6:00–7:00 PM — Serve/Serve Receive Skills (BlockOut Academy gym)

Tuition: $400

Athletes Will Work On:

• Serving mechanics, accuracy, and consistency

• Developing a variety of serves (standing, float, and jump)

• Serve receive footwork, platform control, and reading the server

• Building confidence in pressure serve/receive situations

• Strength & conditioning to improve power, mobility, and durability

Why Join This Program
This program is ideal for athletes preparing to compete in a full 6-player rotation, where serving and serve receive can determine playing time and success on the court. With limited enrollment (12 athletes), players will receive high-rep, detailed instruction, and feedback every session—helping them build both the confidence and technical foundation to excel.
