Coach Mekaila was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, where her passion for sports began early. She started playing volleyball in 7th grade and went on to become a varsity starter all four years at Clay-Chalkville High School. A standout outside hitter, she earned MVP honors in both volleyball and basketball before continuing her athletic and academic journey at Lawson State, where she played collegiate volleyball while studying pre-medicine.

Coach Mekaila began coaching at BlockOut Academy in June 2018 and quickly became a valued part of the team. Now in her 7th season, she serves as Head Coach for our 15U Travel Team and is a full-time staff member at BOA.

She brings unmatched energy, insight, and patience to every session. Known for her ability to connect with athletes of all ages, she has a special passion for developing hitters and defensive players. Her purpose-driven approach, inquisitive mindset, and deep care for every athlete make her one of BOA’s most impactful coaches.

Membership Required
All participants must have a current BOA Annual Membership:
• $129 for a single athlete
• $189 for a multi-athlete family

Optional Premium Membership is also available:
• $199 for a single athlete
• $259 for a multi-athlete family
Premium includes: annual registration fee, two BOA shirts, registration priority, and free access to mental performance seminars.
